It's called blue powder, and almost every shar-pei owner in the world knows about this and uses it. It's easily made at home with: 16 Oz. Isopropyl Alcohol - *IF there is a lot of open or broken, irritatated skin inside or around the ear area, the Alchol can be substituted with Witch Hazel* 4 Tablespoons Boric Acid Powder 16 Drops Gentian Violet Solution 1% Mix together in alcohol bottle and shake well. You will also need to shake solution every time you use it to disperse the Boric Acid Powder. To use, purchase the "Clairol" type plastic bottle or a small baby ear syringe bottle to dispense solution to affected ears. Others have found that despite the alcohol, the dog will not object to even the first treatment. The Boric Acid Powder soothes the ear. The Gentian Violet Solution is an anti-infection agent. The solution appears to work well on any and all ear problems from mites to wax to canker. After the 2nd or 3rd day you can clean out the ear with a Q- tip or cotton balls. The success rate for this treatment is 95-99%. Dogs on the verge of ear canal surgery have been returned to normal with only the regular follow-up treatment to keep the ear healthy. If an infection seems to be remaining in the treated ear after the above course of treatment, you may also have some Pseudomonas bacteria in the site. This can be eradicated by using a gentle flush of raw apple cider vinegar and water(warm) . Use 2 Tablespoons of vinegar to one cup of water, 2 x per week. Melinda replied: "you can buy the vaginal cream that you can use to help on the outside. As for how long it will take to work. probably about 24hours. I really never liked the diflucan. I look at it this way. put the medicine where it is bothering you, not wait for it to get through your body. Of course, the Diflucan is a lot cleaner then monistat though."

krazegurl_ds replied: "The cream is just to soothe the outside and the vulvular area. But the diflucan should be enough to heal everything, just give it time. When i get diflucan for my yeast infections that's all i use because i hate how messy and sticky the cream is."
