Belgian replied: "Seems like he took you off them way too quickly, he should have started you with taking them once every two days and so on. It looks like you're having anxiety/depression again so go back to a doctor. Hopefully they'll recognize that you needed the Celexa for now and start you on a small dose again."
Aphrodite replied: "i have gone through that withdrawl with celexa, and EFFEXOR XR
its very hard to come off of them, and you should be weaned very very slowly, when i say slow, i mean slooooooow
im so sorry this is happening to you, if you dont want to get back on meds, i suggest sleeping it off, as that is the only thing that really ever helped me.
if you are experiencing anxiety again, maybe you still need an anti depressant, just not that one persay.
im sorry i cannot be of more help.
good luck."
How long will I be having withdrawl symptoms to celexa? I was taking 20 mg of celexa for 7 weeks then it increased to 30mg for 4 days but it made me really anxious, aggitated, tremors, and dizziness. So the doc said to drop it cold turkey. Well I tried but two days later I was having bad withdrawl, so I took 10mg for a couple weeks to taper off like I did before. I stopped last Wednesday. I was doing fine and just taking
1-2 ativan a day. Then two days ago I started feeling nauseated and having dizziness. It didn't last long, but today I began feeling dizzy and nauseated about 4 hrs ago. I get the dizziness when I move my eyes. I was wondering how long I will be having these symptoms?
Lindsey W replied: "It depends, it should only last a week or so at most with most of the symptoms in the first few days if it is withdrawls you're going through. Try to flush your system out with water and green tea."
I'm bipolar, tried several meds, nothing has worked. Help? I've been Bipolar, Agoraphobic (fear of crowds), and Emetophobic (fear of vomiting) since I was 15. I've been on Effexor for the last 3 1/2 years. It gives me bad side effects, I've had them since I started taking them. The most troublesome are the nausea, it's constant and I don't start feeling better until about 8 hours after I take it. Dry mouth, flatulence, vertigo, tremors and sporadic vomiting are other symptoms.
I've also been on Paxil, Depakote, Celexa, Seroquel and Lithium. Depakote made me violent, Celexa made me horribly dizzy for the entire 6 months I was on it, Seroquel and Lithium landed me in the hospital for suicidal thoughts.
I've had quite a few manic episodes. I'll be fine one minute and then something so small will set me off and I'll become a ballbag, crying nonstop and screaming like I'm dying. The same thing happened when I was on Paxil, which is why I was switched to a different one. I think I've become more depresses since being on Effexor.
stacia replied: "Bipolars cannot take antidepressants without stabilizers. Sometimes, they do nothing, but much more often they induce a mixed state or hypo/mania. I'd question your diagnosis. Bipolar mood states typically run from weeks to months. Get an eval by a psychologist, one familiar with both bipolar and borderline personality disorder. As for stabilizers yet to try... there's Tegretal, Trileptal, Topamax, Lamictal, Abilify, Geodon, Zyprexa, Risperdal, and older generation APs. No med will be completely free of side effects. It is a trade off of which sucks more, the disease or the "cure". If you're not working with a psychiatrist, get one. You're problems are beyond a gp's or pcp's expertise."
xjaz1 replied: "Eventually you'll find a drug or drugs that work for you. Not all drugs work for everyone. What I might suggest is getting some exercise.. walking jogging.. cycling. Exercise is a great mood lifter. Even weight training. You'll notice eventually you'll get over your phobia's.. Good luck!"
gran-no-no-no-nola replied: "I'm not currently treated for bipolar disorder, as my doctor decided I do not have it, that i have mood issues from a hormonal problem that went untreated when I was younger, and life issues I don't handle the way I feel I should. I am still treated for depression with a diagnosis of Asperger's though. I take Effexor. It makes me feel REALLY GOOD for a while. I lose weight no matter what I eat. Like ten to twenty pounds in a month or so. Then I start gaining again and feeling REALLY BAD. (like now.) That's when she takes me off the effexor and puts me on something else for a week or two, such as Zoloft or Lexapro which also do NOT WORK for longer than two or three months before I swing way up and then go WAY DOWN.
I don't have those symptoms you mentioned, except suicidal thoughts and a bit of vertigo. Never been on Paxil, Celexa, Seroquel, but did try lithium for about thirty days a long time ago when I was with a doctor who I told I thought I might be bipolar. It made me REALLY DITZY, DIZZY, and TIRED. I don't know why people take medicine that hurts them more than helps them. You should tell your doctor (as I should mine) that the EFFEXOR ISN'T working...and that THERAPY will HELP more than medicine when one is DEPRESSED. Depression comes from thoughts, lots of times, and what better time than now when you're not manic to try to rearrange those thoughts, LOL.
I got over my own OCD behaviors when I was younger, without a doctor's help. What I did was read a lot about anything I had fears of, and also retrained myself. For instance, I had a horrible habit of redoing everything about my hair, face, outfit, etc. if it wasn't a certain way and that would make me hours late for stuff. The problem was I didn't want to be around people though, not that I didn't like how I looked, so I just taught myself how to be in crowds, how to be around total strangers, how to talk to total strangers, how to do small talk, how to handle when other people make sudden loud noises (such as car motors, giggling, clapping) etc. You can do something kind of like that, but you'll have to think what you're really afraid of to come up with the right way to treat yourself to get over it."
Could this be anything serious? Hello , i have been having some bad anxiety over the past 7 months. along with some physical symptoms which i will list. Ive been cleared through a cardiologist and gastroenterologist and i have a psychiatrist who has prescribed me celexa and zoloft, celexa didnt work so i been on zoloft for the past few days and its fine so far. I had gotten a CT scan done and it showed i had a mass in the tail of my pancreas, and the Gastro doc didnt seem to be concerned at all and said that some people just have bigger parts to their organs and such. Cardiology says theres nothing wrong except i have wolff parkinson white syndrome, and ive had the holter monitor and a echo cardiogram showing nothing bad. What scares me is the pancreas part.... i looked up things about pancreas cancer and other things that could be wrong and got really nervous. These have been my symptoms
First week as of 7 months ago...
-little bit of nausea, loose stool(not diahrea) extreme insomnia and depresssion, mild chest pain
After a couple weeks....
-same as above except no nausea. had Heart palpitations upon waking up , cloudy urine
A month or so later.....
same symptoms, but started having Tremors in my head and feet that only happend while i was asleep and woke me up. Also to mention, it seems that when i have too much sugar it increases my depression quite a bit and causes me to have a hard time breathing. My stool seems to be quite inconsistent and often pale. When i get tremors it seems to only happen if i have alcohol or caffeine late in the afternoon. But i rarely drink alcohol and i limit my caffeine intake. I also seem to have a hard time building muscle and feeling good after exercising and lifting weights. And recently the joints in my knees randomly feel achy then goes away.....
My physician keeps suggesting that anxiety is my only problem. But i always feel like something inside of me is going wrong. Any help or advice would be appreciated
sorry i forgot to add im a 23 year old male
Sachinha replied: "Well what are you doing to treat your anxiety?
Pills are not the solution, they're only a help for short term.
If you have anxiety issues then maybe you should seek counselling, they will help you find ways to deal with stress and work through your problems.
Also, eating healthy helps a lot, many studies are saying that junk food makes you depressed.
Also, when is the last time you had a complete physical and routine blood tests? If you haven't, i would suggest that.
If you have and they found nothing wrong, then you could get a second opinion.
If there is seemingly still no physical reason then it's probably mental/emotional
The symptoms you're having could be a result of stress, or an illness. I wouldn't jump the gun and think it's cancer when you really don't know.
If you feel as though your doctor isn't taking anything you say into consideration then switch your doctor.
I hope everything works out for you."
Kathleen replied: "The first thing I would do if I were you is look at your diet. Food can make a huge difference in your health, even affect your mood in a negative way (including cause or increase depression).
Try cutting out these foods:
frozen, pickled, cured, processed, packaged, pre-prepared, fast foods, anything high in sodium, anything high in sugar
Try:
drink more water
raw, fresh fruits
raw, fresh vegetables
low fat dairy products like milk and yogurt
small portions of lean meats
foods rich in dietary fibre
Eat smaller meals, more frequently."
Akshat G replied: "You have not specified exactly what type of anxiety ur going through, anyway it will be sort out through good psychiatrist."
Late on taking dose of Lithium... will it effect you that quickly? I was late taking my dose of Lithium (900 mg for a 103 lb 5'2" 16 y.o. female) last night by 5 hours. I started to feel incredibly nauseus and just disgusting at some point between there. I felt horrible. Can this be at all related to the late lithium dose? I haven't paid much attention when I skip my meds entirely, because that is usually when I already feel sh-tty and therefore don't want to take them.
Was the lithium the culprit? And we lowered my dose from 1300 mg to 900 because I was having severe hand and leg tremors and excessive polyuria, and the symptoms subsided substantially. Now today, however, the tremors in my hands are back full force. How can I be so effected by this?
Obviously I am taking the lithium for Bipolar II disorder, along with lamictal and celexa.
kct2828 replied: "If I miss my lithium one day it doesnt effect me but maybe its different for other people"
jackie replied: "Its possible the lithium is the culprit not only because you were five hours late in taking it but in combination with you being put on a lower dosage of it more or less at the same time. It is also entirely possible it has nothing to do with the lithium. I really, really wish I could help you. You seem to be going through so much. I cant understand that when they reduced your lithium that the tremors came back in full force. What does your doctor say? I know from everything I read that it takes a long time to get the perfect mix of meds for any individual.
What does your twin sister say about all of this?
I feel so helpless and I really wish I could help. The only thing that comes to mind is that you are NOT as of yet on the right mix of meds for U. Ask your doctor about all your concerns. Have you ever used abilify? Good luck Anna. Im really sorry I wasnt much help."
side effects from vyvanse? K so uhh..I've been taking Vyvanse for like 4 months right. I am currently taking 30mg of Vyvanse, along with 20mg of Celexa, and 50mg of Trazadone. Not sure when my side effects started but I think it was before I started taking the meds. Most of my symptoms started before I started the treatment.
My symptoms/side effects..Intense migraines, irritability, hallucinations (hearing voices), hand tremors (hands shake..a lot), paranoia, mood swings, restlessness, insomnia (yeh, had this FOREVER, Vyvanse just makes it a helluva lot worse), loss of appetite, fatigue, I'm sure I'm probably forgetting some.
yeh so out of all those..i think that the only side effects from Vyvanse were loss of appetite, and the hand tremors. Everything else I've had forever. Well I just want to know your opinions, and if I should keep taking Vyvanse?

What could my condition be? Hello i came here to post this question in regards to a lot of symptoms ive been having for the past 6 months. here are my problems.
Top of feet turn red- off and on daily
Stomach growls/noise- quite often daily even after eating
Heart palpitations- for a few months happened 3-5 nights a week, but not so much recently
Hard to breathe- off and on very random, have to yawn or force a breathe quite often
Cloudy urine with mucus- every day
Loose stool/tar looking- 2-3 times a week
itchy hands/feet- a few times a week lasting no more then 1-2 hours
insomnia- was really bad for a few months and somehow stopped and now i sleep a lot.
brain fog- feels like im living my life in a cloud most often
tooth/gum soreness- lasting an hour or so , most days
dry blood in nose upon waking up in the morning
knees often feel sore- randomly almost every day
tremors- mostly when ive had a couple drinks of liquor late in the evening i would wake up with tremors in my head, feet, or abdomen
teeth marks on my tongue- at all times
i have been trying to find a solution to my problem , i dont get to visit my doctors as often as i want to since im going through the VA. almost all of my symptoms listed, happen randomly and are not always in affect. I have seen a cardiologist and was diagnosed with wolff parkinson white syndome, had multiple blood and urine test done, showing no problems. The worst symptom i think is that i dont feel right most of the time, very stale mood and sort of a depressed feeling. i had a a psyciatrist that prescribed me Celexa , it did nothing but make everything worse so i came off of it. I also had got a blood test for Celiac disease and gave a stool sample , doc hasnt called me in a week, but ill find the restults eventually. ANy suggestions on what my problem could be will be appreciated.
Mandy May replied: "Are your feet swelling up when they get red? If they are, it could be the salt you are consuming. Everytime I eat anything with salt my feet and hands swell up and are really really red and itch. Thats what the doctor told me, to much salt! And to track what I'm eatting like certain soups and stuff.
You also may want to look into a condition called RSD.
My Mom has that.
Her hands are very red and are in pain constantly.
RSD is a nerve condition and is also neurological [not in the sense its in her head because its a physical condition it just the nerves are messed up]
RSD can be anywhere in your body and usually are caused from constant and rapid movement.
Usually its in someones hands, feet, legs or elbows/arms
Just something to look into."
crossed1 replied: "I've looked under several medical illnesses/symptoms, and from all the things you describe and palpatations you state you experience, I'd personally highly recommend you to an infectious disease specialist.
Not all of symptoms seem to fall under one specific disease, but if you experience cloudy urine, intermittent palpatations you could have some form of bacterial endocarditis.
You said your feet, legs turn red and swell: but didn't mention a rash.
If you've been dx with WPW syndrome (only with a holter monitor, or EKG while have this fast rate) you'd been put on some type of anti-arrythmic, that would decrease episodes.
You've got alot going on; surely several cbc , sed. rates have been done: any thing affecting 3 of your major organs can certainly be life threatening (heart, lungs, kidneys) Insist to your reg. MD to refer you to infectious disease. Sounds like all this is alittle out of his/her league . Please for your sake speak up and don't stop until you've been treated . Good Luck my prayers will be for you."
Could I Have Serotonin Syndrome? I think I may have made serotonin syndrome about two months ago. I was taking Celexa and Maxalt for my headaches and within two weeks of starting the maxalt, I was experiencing bouts of confusion, had horrible tremors, had two seizures (never had a seizure before in my life)...my friend just told me a little about serotonin syndrome and now I'm freaked out. I changed medications about a month ago, but still have the tremors....could I have had/or possibly still have serotonin syndrome? I hear that it's hard to diagnose and is often overlooked.
bryce707 replied: "You need to go consult a professional. Yahoo Answers can not tell you if you have this or not. There are several factors that must add up in the whole thing. It could be fatal. Even now. Go see a doctor.
Cheers,
Bryce Thomas"
Jared replied: "It is possible .. especially with the introduction of seizures. If anything I would lower or stop the Celexa under a doctors supervision to see if the symptoms stop. If so, then consider the interaction of the two drugs.. and find a better combination."
Your Friendly Jewish Accountant replied: "So ask your doctor!"
