Find Doryx 100 Mg in Questions
I am taking Doryx 100 mg tablets for 4 days and my acne has become worse.does it get worse before better? Does it get worse before it gets better?

Oct12 replied: "i first took Doryx 75 for 2 and a half weeks and the dermatologist gave me a higher dose of Doryx 150 yes the acne does become worse because the medicine fights off what the acne needs to survive. the acne will try to fight back but eventually the acne will die out it should be better in about 2 weeks : see a little improvement or no more acne popping up. if you don't see any improvements after a month ask your dermatologist for a higher dose. it goes as high as 200 i believe so"

Any dermatologists here or anyone who knows about Doryx (Doxycyclone) 100 mg tablets? I have mild acne, like one or two pimples here and there from week to week. I was recommended Doryx pills, but I am hesitant in starting the use of them. I've heard it can be bad to take antibiotics because as soon as you stop your acne just comes back. In addition some bad side effects. Basically I was wondering if anyone would recommend the use or should I just not use it????

Trinadh K replied: "hello, this seems that ur very care full abt ur health thats good to follow. but to getrid of the acne u can use that. bcz even though the medication is an antibiotic the concentration is set and is standardized so there is no harm in using it."

Mary Boo replied: "Do consult a dermatologist and take proper advice."

Carpe Diem replied: "It is not bad to take antibiotics unless you are taking them for everything. It is bad because it kinda damages your stomach flora, but if it is a really strong antibiotic. I believe you are supposed to take that once daily. My sister took this and she saw great great results. He acne went away completely. I recommend you take ACTIVIA every day You can find this anywhere in grocery stores or Probiotic pills Over the counter at any pharmacy. It regulates your stomach flora. I know doctors don't tell you this but I had a few european doctors that told me to take probiotics but not not only one as the bottle directs you to. You can take 2-3 a day while you are on antibiotics. You can consult this with your doctor and I am sure they will know about this They just never mention it ( don't know why ) But Doryx WORKS!! I recommend you take vitamins too meanwhile but trust me antibiotics are not as bad as you think if accompanied with vitamins and Probiotics. Check again with your doctor!! Hope you feel better and you are soon free of Acne!!"

Diane replied: "I would not take anyone's advice on this but a doctor. Preferably your family doctor. Alot of people on YA pretend to be doctors. Your family doctor or skin doctor may have to change your medication altogether so consult them."

TERRIBLE SKIN (acne, discoloration), I NEED TONS OF HELP! Okay, so I have never worn makeup before or anything. I don't do anything to my face/skin and yet it looks really terrible. I have a mess of blackheads all around my nose and cheeks. From where my cheekbones start to about the entire bottom of my face - there's major discoloration. I have a naturally light skin tone, and the discoloration is really harsh and red. On top of that, I also have noticeable marks from where I've had previous acne breakouts and everything. I thought it was all just a matter of time before I went through this phase and finished it (I'm 16) but it has been like this for a long time and I'm getting really disgusted with it! I went to a dermo recently. I was given a pill (Doryx, 100 mg). I've run out of it, so I need to get get another prescription of that. I was also given SFC Lotion to use in the mornings, and Tazorac Cream to apply at night before bed. At one point, it got so bad to the point where my face felt like it was going to fall off (and it's like that right now actually) and my dermo gave me Vanoxide-HC Lotion. The thing about this, is that I'M VERY VERY reluctant to use it. The first time I used it, my face felt like it was on fire for a week. I didn't move my face, sleep on it, eat, etc. It was painful to even throw some water on it. It was impossible. I haven't touched it since. Anyway. I could REALLY use A LOT of help. All I want is healthy, clean looking skin. I've been improving my diet with a lot of vegetables/fruits and water, and yet my skin is still very sensitive. It gets oily very quickly, and whenever I put any of my prescribed medications to the affected area, it dries up almost instantly. Someone help me out? I have an appointment with my dermo at the end of this month, and I'm going to tell her that none of this is working. For a time in the beginning, there was a little improvement, but now nothing's changing. Any help is appreciated, thanks guys! xoxo Michelle.

Jeff Gordon = Legend replied: "Go see a physician about it. Dermatologists won't see you as quickly unless you say the magic word: Botox, which makes them morons."

*Due*Jan*1st* replied: "Put some lemon juice in your face moisturizer it will help some with the discoloration."

princess_2hott replied: "i would ldeff..stop using it..it sounds like your having an allergic reaction to it..i just went to my doctor wednesday..and i have black heads on my nose and pimples on my chin, cheeks, and forhead..she gave this gel that you keep in the fridge..and it seems to be working..and it doesnt burn it tingles for about 30 seconds after you put it on..and then goes away...it seems to be working pretty good..."

Cherie replied: "You should talk to your dermatologist about a chemical peel. Some of them are very cheap and do a lot of great work. They rid of discoloration and most of your acne problems. Most doctors require you to do a peel every 2 weeks until you are cleared. Light chemical peels can range from $50-$150. Or you can get a chemical peel home kit from a drug store which is cheaper Best of luck. My heart goes out to you"
